Masjid-E-Noor Extension Update (MON 22/03/2010)

Alhamdulillah, through the Fadhl of Allah the Masjid E Noor First Phase construction is almost now complete.

The building of the new Masjid extension remains the focal point. The building of external walls is complete, windows and doors are in place. The second dome structure and roof work is now completed. The building, although not yet complete, has already become a landmark extension.

As you are aware not much work has been done since Ramadan. The reason for this one was the bad weather the other we were waiting for approval from Building Control for the Second Phase.

It is anticipated that the work will be carried in 3 to 4 Phase as follows:

  1. External Drainage, New Electrical Supply to New, make goods all external works Front and rear.
  2. Refurbished New Extension, Wudhu, W/C, Jamaat Khanna, Hallway, Extend Existing Jamaat with New.
  3. Refurbish Existing Jamaat Khanna, Windows, Lighting, Heating and Ventilation.
  4. Upgrade and Refurbish Basement.
  5. Upgrade and Refurbish First Floor.
  6. Finish off All external Works Dome, Resurface and make good Car Park etc.

Alhamdulillah we are pleased to report that we are now in receipt of approval from building control which takes into account, Fire Regulation, Ventilation, Drainage, and accessibility etc.

However now that all relevant details are in place it is anticipated that subject to approval of the AGM with the proposal work can commence in earnest towards the second phase.

The Gloucester community remains strong and united. The regular monthly food raising event has proved popular and is source of funds for the extension project.

The continuous support and guidance from the elders, youth and members is of paramount importance in our future successes.

Alhamdulillah, in the month of Ramadhan the community rallied around to collect £100,000 for the Masjid extension, which will go towards the second phase of the renovation project in particular the Wudhu Area, Taps and Internal Doors.

We extend our prayers, thanks and sincere appreciation to all for your continued support over the years.

The Association is here to serve you and we hope you continue to take advantage of the many activities we offer. We would like to encourage all our Muslim brothers and sisters to share in this blessed work by continuing to remember us in your precious du‘aas and also by donating generously to this noble cause. Jazakallah
